2020 WILDFIRE funding for Down Payment Assistance
Funding is available to help households impacted by the 2020 wildfires and straight-line winds to become first time homeowners.
Are you eligible?
You may qualify if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You can provide proof showing loss of your rental home due to the 2020 wildfires or straight-line winds.
- You are a first-time homebuyer (you have not owned a home in the last three years).
- Your household income is below designated county income limits and does not exceed 120% Area Median Income (AMI).
- Your debt-to-income ratio shows monthly debt payments are less than 50% of your gross income.
- Your household expenses do not exceed 20-30% of your monthly gross income.

If you meet the eligibility criteria for the Wildfire Down Payment Assistance Program, please contact the appropriate referring program representative based on the County where you lived during the 2020 wildfires to begin the application process.

DevNW has been awarded Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery funds from Oregon Housing and Community Services. These funds are designed to offer housing counseling and first-time homebuyer down payment assistance to low-to-moderate income renter households impacted by the 2020 Oregon Wildfires in Clackamas, Linn, Marion, Lane, and Lincoln counties.
Our HUD-approved and certified Housing Counselors assist prospective, eligible homebuyers by providing guidance through one of the biggest and most complex financial decisions – buying a home. Eligible applicants also have access to educational programs such as Homeownership Education and Counseling, Personal Finance workshops and coaching, and Foreclosure Avoidance Counseling.
Our Mortgage Loan Officers offer personalized education and counseling and help determine whether you qualify for up to $150,000 toward a down payment, including possible help with closing costs.
