Homeownership is one of the most powerful ways for low/moderate income families to build stability, create assets that can be passed to the next generation, and find financial stability for retirement. Over the years, we’ve built and sold more than 155 homes for low and moderate income first-time homebuyers. But with wages staying flat and the cost of homes (and land and construction) skyrocketing, homeownership is getting farther and farther out of reach. That’s why DevNW builds new homes for moderate income buyers – often first time buyers.

Many of our new homes are now Community Lane Trust (CLT) homes, a unique model that separates the home from the land; DevNW holds the land in trust, and sells the home to a moderate income buyer (with a 99 year lease on the land). This helps create extra affordability, while also ensuring that the home is not just affordable to the first buyer…but to every buyer down the road.
